Nadal set to defend U.S. Open title, injured Clijsters is out

Rafael Nadal, the 2010 U.S. Open champ, is set to defend his title as the tournament goes to the net on Monday, Sept. 29 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing. The top matches will be played inside of Arthur Ashe Tennis Stadium.

The U.S. Open is the highest-attended annual sporting event in the world. Throw in Saturday's Arthur Ashe Kids Day, and you can expect thousands of tennis fans from every part of the world to travel to New York as they fill hotels in and around Queens and Midtown Manhattan.

While Nadal will be going for back-to-back U.S. Open titles, defending women's champ Kim Clijsters will sit out this year's tournament due to an injury.

Novak Djokovic, the world's No.1 player will be a big favorite to win his first U.S. Open title. Hopefully, the wise old heads at the U.S. Open will bracket Djokovic and Nadal to set up a possible final title match between the top two players in the world.

Serena Williams, playing her way back into form, will enter the tournament as the No. 28 seed.
