multicultural gala honors some of the grears

Happy birthday Gwynne Wilcox, Marguerite Johnson and my grandmother, Bessie Johnson. Congratulations to Sasha Ray, who had a baby girl. Get well wishes to cousin Claude Steele, who is now in the States awaiting a transplant.

Condolences to the family of Stephen "Wink" Johnson, who lost his wife and his red Corvette when the car's engine ignited and burst into flames. His good friend Dave passed away from an asthma attack, followed by his dog, who allegedly died of exposure. His wife was loving, his car was slick, his friend was loyal and his dog was mean. It's a lot for one man to bear.

This is just in from the Bronx Zoo, so I had to print as is: "Weekends in October, come visit with our bats, cats and creepy crawlies and take a crisp fall stroll through the zoo. Bring the family to enjoy hay mazes and hayrides, music, magic and more. At Wild Asia Plaza, watch the Lehman College Players perform 'So You Think That's Scary?,' then head to Zoo Center to march in a costume parade alongside stilt-walkers from the Alice Farley Dance Company. If you dare, embark on a haunted safari to explore our B.O.O. Labs, where an accident-prone Dr. D. Zaster is readying his top-secret experiment; Expedition Earth. Treat stations around the park will sweeten your visit. And don't forget, kids in costume get in free!" Sounds like fun-why not?

P.S., I went with the naan bread. You have to be a weekly reader to know what I'm talking about.

Until next week...kisses.
