What a terrific turnout! With a vibrant multicolor, multiprint backdrop, Tracy Reese's fall 2012 fashion show during the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week previews at Lincoln Center was all blazing colors and fabulous shapes.

With an innate desire to create beautiful things, Detroit native Reese came to Manhattan in 1982 to attend Parsons School of Design. She received her degree in 1984. Upon graduation, Reese apprenticed in top fashion houses including Arlequin and Perry Ellis, where she was design director for their women's portfolio.

In 1998, this star African-American designer launched her eponymous collection and received rave reviews. Perfect for the modern woman, Reese's debut collection showcased ultra-feminine, polished pieces that were layered with intelligent nostalgia, charm and glamour. Her distinctive, feminine details and soft styles have become her signature.

Reese's second line, plenty by Tracy Reese, was introduced later that same year. A bohemian, ethnic-inspired collection that is of-the-moment but never trendy, plenty by Tracy Reese comprises pieces that unite myth and modernity with an eclectic and adventurous twist. These pieces also feature the designer's signature detailing.

In addition to design, Reese was included as a board member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2007, where she is a key player in selecting recipients for the organization's AIDSFund.

For more than a decade, the Tracy Reese name has been synonymous with frothy dresses and print-driven heirloom frocks that women across the globe can't get enough of. Reese's eye for detail and extensive knowledge of color, art-inspired prints, fabric and form continue to be evident each season.

Her collections consistently reveal timeless, wearable looks that evoke sophistication and elegance. Reese's approach is deliberate, combining modern craftsmanship with a vintage flair.

Tracy Reese and plenty by Tracy Reese are sold nationwide in top department stores and specialty boutiques, including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Anthropologie and Scoop, as well as retailers throughout Europe and Asia.
