Healthy Women Rock; Book Launch

"How to live the life you desire and deserve lose weight and control negative thoughts," said Madeline McCray co-author of 'Healthy Women Rock,' as she explained the purpose of her new book.
The book launch celebration of "Healthy Women Rock" written by Harlem's very own Madeline McCray and son, Terahshea McCray took place on Jan. 17th at LaMaison d'Art.
LaMaison d'Art is the home of Stephanie Calla and an art gallery where events are held located in Harlem.
"Its not just an art exhibition, we want our house to live and to have an artistic vibe," says Calla.
Guests were able to enjoy the wonderful art pieces as well as listen to the powerful message spoken from the McCrays.
The McCrays explained to their guests that the book covers a broad range of issues ranging from mental health to physical health. They wanted to make suggestions to their readers that will provoke thought from a different angle.
"Working with my son was wonderful experience, I respect his knowledge of diet in nutrition he is very passionate about it" says Madeline.
Terahshea McCray fitness and nutrition expert explains: "We have to move forward in a new field of fitness activism. It was very important for me to be active in the lives and in the mindsets of women specifically."
The book includes a foreword from Terrie M. Williams, President of the Terrie Williams Agency. Williams contributes by explaining her personal trials and tribulations that she has faced in her lifetime. Her story is taken from her latest novel "Black Pain: It just look like we are not hurting."
"I want women to claim their power, their personal power to recognize their abilities, and to actually get in touch with dreams that they have and to pursue them" says Madeline.
Born and raised in Harlem, Madeline McCray is an actress, writer, and producer who states, "I love story telling, sharing, and I like people."
The McCray's constantly reiterated for women, who are overwhelmed with all of their responsibilities to make the time and take care of self.
The next book launching held in Harlem will take place on Feb 11, 2012 at Hue Man Books from 3-5:30pm.
