Malik Rhasaan: Expanding Occupation to the Hood (36427)

Dear Amerikka how many young black men must be hunted and murdered before we admit that this country hasn’t changed much since August 15th 1955 who are we fooling? I wish I could be optimistic in my thinking when it comes to racism, and white supremacy in this country… Trayvon isn’t an isolated incident, it has been this critical in our communities… Every Black and Latino Male fits a description, we live with the constant fear of being murdered, beat, and detained we all live with a cop in our head!

We teach our children early on two things how to cross the street and to avoid the police. Every black mother I know has said these words ” I spank my child so the police wont in the street” we are literally training our children to avoid the overseer (modern day plantation ) The Fugitive Slave Law of 1850 made any Federal marshal or other official who did not arrest an alleged runaway slave liable to a fine of $1,000 and now today we know for a fact that there are arrest quotas, what has changed ? How many mothers go to bed worried that her son won’t return home, because an overzealous under trained Cop? They are killing our children with impunity!!! How many candle light vigils, peace marches, R.I.P t-shirts and Panel discussions can we have before the hood grows restless? How many more Ramarleys Grahams, and Sean Bells must be eulogized?

All revolution starts with an ask so I am asking you to stop KILLING OUR BLACK BABIES!! Every creature on this planet defends its offspring what makes you think we are any different? How arrogant of you to think you can just take a life without any repercussions. America what are you going to do when the sleeping Giant Awakens how will you suppress him? Woodrow Wilson said “The seed of revolution is repression” Amerkkka the soil is tilled and we are ready to harvest it is up to you what we decide to plant………

Sincerely Yours,

Occupy the Hood
