On Tuesday, Mic Sean and the High End Agency hosted the second installment of “Uptown Underground.” The Harlem event, now gaining popularity, is giving spotlight to local indie artists.
The event took place at Silvana in its basement space on West 116th Street and featured performances by Akil Dasan, Lynette Williams, Denzil Porter, L.atasha A.lcindor and DJ Prince. Comedian Buttahman also took the stage for a stand-up set.
Breaking from the tradition of most music industry showcases, Uptown Underground provides an intimate setting for artists to perform live music. The event is free and takes place every other month. The next event will take place in February.
Produced by the Mic Sean and the High End Agency, Sean is a respected music industry insider noted for discovering Action Bronson and has worked with Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg and Grammy Award winner 88 Keys.
