Nas rocks Times Square for Hennessy partnership concert

Rapper Nas has been named the new brand ambassador of Hennessy. He will also be taking part in the cognac brand's "Wild Rabbit" campaign, which in the past has featured the likes of Erykah Badu and Manny Pacquiao.
To celebrate the new collaboration, Hennessy and Nas teamed up on the music side of things and held a private VIP show in Times Square's R Lounge on Jan. 15. Waitresses served up various Hennessy cocktails to guests before the man of the hour arrived to perform.
Before his performance, radio station Hot 97 personality Miss Info spoke with Nas on stage about the new venture with Hennessy and took questions from fans via Twitter. Answering an online fan question on whether he was looking into writing, producing or directing any movies in the future, Nas, who co-wrote and starred in the movie "Belly," revealed that he is looking into a lot of different things outside of rapping.
"I'm definitely looking at the movie game," he said. "A lot of things I'm more ready for that I wasn't ready for before. I'm more responsible, more chill, more laid-back, more mature. I can do a lot of things that I didn't care for before."
After answering questions, Nas blessed fans with some old-school tracks like "Represent," "If I Ruled the World," "Hate Me Now" and "One Mic," as well as new cuts off of his album "Life is Good," like "The Don," "Daughters" and "Bye Baby."
In attendance were Def Jam executive Shawn "Pecas" Costner, rapper Busta Rhymes and former NFL player and TV personality Michael Strahan.
In a statement, Senior Vice President of Moet Hennessy USA Rodney Williams discussed why Nas fits their motto of "never stop, never settle." "Nas is not only a master in music, but is blazing new trails in film and philanthropy, among other passions," Williams said.
"This partnership with Hennessy has been almost two decades in the making," Nas said in his own statement. "I am honored to be included in the group of previous partners Hennessy has selected over the years, and hope this campaign will inspire others to 'never stop, never settle.'"
