Jason is the new Kidd on the block

Jason is the new Kidd on the block—the “block” being the grounds and neighborhood around the Barclays Center in downtown Brooklyn, which is surrounded by a thriving array of national brand and local stores. Kidd was named the Nets’ head coach and will be working spitting distance from the Long Island Railroad, the legendary Park Slope neighborhood, as well as Brooklyn’s historic Bedford-Stuyvesant community.
If Kidd wants to dash out for a quick bite, Junior’s Restaurant, one of the most famous landmark eateries in the city, is a quick jog up Flatbush Avenue. He is the third Brooklyn Nets head coach this NBA season, but he will not sit on the bench until the 2013-14 season tips off in November.
The Kidd is in the early stages of building his staff. At the press conference announcing his appointment, the sure-to-be Hall of Famer couldn’t stop smiling. And why not? His future has gone from running a fast break in shorts to wearing suits on the Nets’ bench.
