February unemployment numbers are out

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest unemployment numbers on March 8. According to the Labor Department, the nation's unemployment rate fell to 7.7 percent in February, down from 7.9 percent in January. Jobs increased by 236,000 in non-farm payroll employment, with most of the job improvements occurring in health care, construction and business. The unemployment rate for Hispanic and Black people, respectively, did not decrease. Hispanic unemployment stood at 9.6 percent and the Black unemployment rate was 13.8 percent.
