Living wage passes; mayor vows to veto Quinn outburst steals the show

An unknown party posted a fake version of Christine Quinn's mayoral campaign website. The webpage mocked the New York City council speaker's position on proposed legislation for paid sick leave in New York City. The fake website began by stating, "Paid sick leave is a laudable goal for New York." Quinn quickly denied the website's message,

Quinn has refused to bring a proposed paid sick leave bill to a vote on the floor of the City Council. Quinn has stated that the bill is not a good economic choice for the city at the moment. A majority of council members support adopting a proposed bill that would require employers to allow five paid sick days at businesses with five or more employees.
