Dia Simms, chief operating officer of Combs Enterprise, is the keynote speaker for the Shiloh Baptist Church’s 100th anniversary gala. The gala is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6 at Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester, N.Y.

The signature for this event, “The Year of Promise and Ministry Fulfillment Gala,” will commemorate 100 years of dedicated service and outreach. All proceeds from this gala will be used to expand and fund the church’s ministry programs and community development.

“We are excited to recognize the historical occasion that happened in 1913 when Shiloh Baptist Church became an official church,” said the Rev. Michael B. Gerald. “The Year of Promise and Ministry Fulfillment Gala is the stepping stone for Shiloh Baptist Church’s return to our mission to do ministry. This includes focusing on educational needs, transitional housing, job training, entrepreneurship and spiritual empowerment.”

This elegant black-tie event will kick off with a social reception at 8 p.m. which will feature several entrepreneurial vendors, followed by an uplifting and inspirational dinner program, a live band for dancing and a silent auction of many sought-after pieces. Additionally, gospel artist and radio host Lonnie Hunter will be the master of ceremonies. Parishioners, clergy, elected officials and Westchester’s elite are expected to gather for this momentous occasion, which is sure to be a memorable occasion with enjoyment to be had by all. The Shiloh Baptist Church was founded in 1910 as a mission and later became a church in 1913. Today, the Shiloh Baptist Church edifice is located at 15 Marble Place in Tuckahoe, N.Y. As a staple in the Tuckahoe community and the surrounding Westchester area, it’s a church striving for excellence, led by the Rev. Gerald’s unique and innovative style of preaching, which instills solid biblical principles, uplifts the worshipers and is food for the soul. Shiloh currently has 12 ministries, with more being developed. Worship services are held every Sunday at 11 a.m. The people of Shiloh remain steadfast and committed to the mission: We are “a community of God believing people, called to aid in the transformation, empowerment and purpose of others seeking a relationship with God.”
