Kerry steps out for ‘Scandal’ premiere

Congratulations are in order for Pharrell Williams and his fiancée, Helen Lasichanh, the mother of his 4-year-old son, Rocket. The couple, who were secretly wed in Europe in August, will be celebrating their vows on Oct. 12 in Miami. Rumor has it that the guest list will include Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Pusha T and Malice of the Clipse, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton, Gwen Stefani and Chad Hugo of N.E.R.D.
Wearing a Prada dress and Stella McCartney belt, Kerry Washington was glamorous as usual for the premiere of the third season of her hit show “Scandal,” which took place on Oct. 2 at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. The event also celebrated the show’s new partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue, which is taking place in-store, online and on-screen, celebrating the unique and iconic style aesthetic of the political drama. Washington helped curate a window installation at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store in the Big Apple.
Lamar Odom is currently facing charges after being arrested for driving under the influence last month. Odom did not show up to court, and the judge rescheduled his arraignment for Oct. 10. He now faces a misdemeanor for a DUI as well as the allegation that he refused to take a chemical test. Odom played for the Los Angeles Clippers last season and has yet to sign with a team.
Lauryn Hill was released from the minimum security Federal Correction Institution in Danbury, Conn., on Oct. 4 after serving three months for failing to pay taxes on more than $1.8 million in income she earned between 2005 and 2007. Although the songstress has been confined to three months of home detention as part of her sentence, she is going on tour from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31, after the judge complied with her request. On New Year’s Eve, Hill will return home to complete her detention sentence.
On Monday, Oct. 28, Great Women in Music is presenting Tony-nominated star of stage, screen and television Melba Moore in a night of dance and romance at the Cutting Room on 32nd Street in Midtown Manhattan. There will only be one show. Stay tuned.
