The New York Police Department will soon have a secure social media site that’s just for police. The site, BlueLine, is similar to Facebook. It is a site where law enforcement officers can share and distribute information through video conferences, instant messages and other social media capabilities. Law enforcement members will also be able to look for other officers on the site. BlueLine was tested in the Los Angeles Police Department. BlueLine is being launched globally in Philadelphia in October 2013.
