Gabrielle Union reunited with Dwyane Wade

It looks like those rumors that floated around last spring claiming that Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union had broken up for a while and all the chatter about a couple of other women in his life were true. The Miami Heat superstar was on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last week and told the late night host that he and the actress took a break. Said Wade: “Celebrity relationships are very hard, and for us, this was a busy year for us in our relationship from the standpoint of she was shooting her show ‘Being Mary Jane.’

She was gone most of the year.” He went on to say he was dealing with his injuries and trying to win a championship, so they took a step back for a little while. However, they are now back together, and Wade says Union has been with him all summer long.

Kerry Washington’s husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, couldn’t make it to the Emmys because his team, the San Francisco 49ers, had a game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 22. Unfortunately, the Colts beat the 49ers 27-7. However, Washington took her parents, Valerie and Earl, to the Emmys as her date. While Washington lost out on the Best Actress in a Drama Series Award to Claire Danes, she won the fashion award for the night wearing a Marchesa gown and Fred Leighton jewels and carrying an Edie Parker clutch. It was also a beautiful moment when she and Diahann Carroll, who is now 78, presented the award for Best Actor in a Drama Series to Jeff Daniels.

Following the Sept. 22 matinee performance of the off-Broadway play “Stop.Reset,” Magic and Cookie Johnson were spotted having dinner with the show’s playwright/director Regina Taylor, Tony–nominated director Kenny Leon, actress LaTanya Richardson, writer-producer Tonya Lewis Lee and publicist Steven Manning at Amaranth on East 62nd Street in New York City. “Stop.Reset” runs through Sept. 29 at the Signature Theatre on West 42nd Street.

Lionsgate will release the adaptation of Zane’s popular erotic novel “Addicted” in theaters on March 15, 2014. “Addicted” follows the life of a sex-crazed African-American business woman as she goes through the trials and tribulations of life. The film stars Sharon Leal, Tasha Smith, Boris Kodjoe and Tyson Beckford, among others. Billie Woodruff is the director.

Music industry heavyweight and big baller Jimmy Iovine threw a pre-Emmy party at his estate on Sept. 21. The high rollers at his soiree included Mick Jagger, Oprah Winfrey, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Bono and Dr. Dre. R. Kelly put on an impromptu performance.

Sources say Winfrey, who admitted last week that she had nervous breakdown symptons over her fledgling OWN network and the pressure of filming “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,’” gushed over meeting Jagger for the first time.

Winfrey should hang with yours truly. I met Jagger years ago when I was just a rookie reporter.
