It may seem far off, but summer is only a few months away, and June is Caribbean-American Heritage Month in the United States. The honorary month has officially been in place since 2006, according to the official website for Caribbean-American Heritage Month.
If you happen to find yourself traveling in Texas during the month of June, be sure to stop by the city of Houston and check out some of the events they have planned for Caribbean-American Heritage Month.
- City Hall Proclamation: Join business owners and local leaders in Houston on June 3 at City Hall for an official proclamation of June as Caribbean Heritage Month.
- Open For Business: Come to the June 15 forum and networking event geared toward Caribbean small business owners and entrepreneurs. The event will be held at Cool Runnings Jamaican Grill.
- Carnival at PlazAmericas Mall: A family-friendly carnival is back on June 22 for its second year and will be held at the PlazAmericas Mall.
