For designer Swati Padmaraj, fashion design has been a lifelong dream and passion. As founder and designer of Atiz, this talented designer provides a unique perspective that guides her apparel collection. The line is inspired by her organic chemistry knowledge, which influences her product development and environmental choices. The look is Eastern, yet with Western innovation.
Originally from Mumbai, India, Padmaraj has earned two master’s degrees: one in organic chemistry and the other in business. More recently, she received a BA in apparel design. The current debut of the Atiz collection features the new trench gown, a favorite of Padmaraj. “It’s a classic style that’s an elegant statement piece,” she said. “It works to bring out the personality of the woman wearing it.”
Additional signature brand elements in the collection include floral embroideries, intricate stitching, detailed inserts, translucent layering and dresses in silhouettes that flatter the body.
The Atiz spring 2015 collection will be ready for the Fashion Week presentations this fall. It features 17 pieces, including tailored peplum jackets and dress shirts to be paired with sheer flared palazzo pants and flattering pencil skirts. She also highlights the trench gown in this collection. Other interesting pieces include a stunning jumpsuit with sheer panels and a signature tunic dress. She will introduce this collection at the upcoming Vancouver, Portland, Ore., and Los Angeles Fashion Week shows this fall. This new collection will also be available online in September.
Atiz creates sophisticated women’s wear for those seeking to encounter classic style in beautiful new ways. In the elegance of a single style, Eastern tradition and Western innovation merge. It’s the vision of Padmaraj. She utilizes striking textiles of her Indian homeland combined with classic silhouettes of Western daywear. For international women, her clothes are stunning, modern and ready to travel the world.
Atiz features striking hues of color for your wardrobe. Using the highest quality materials, such as silks, jacquards, tencel and rayon/linen blends, in product development, Padmiraj is able to produce garments that last.
Although “green” and “organic” are the new buzzwords, Padmaraj’s insights into the organic makeup of certain fabrics, paired with popular manufacturing processes, reveal which choices can actually harm the environment. Did you know that polyester may be more environmentally friendly than “organic” cotton?
