Ray Chew and wife host event at Minton’s

“Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada, who is now an MLB baby mama to be, celebrated the upcoming birth of her son by Carl Crawford, who has a $142 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, with a “Diamonds and Diapers”-themed baby shower last Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles. Guests included her daughter Shaniece, her dear friends Shaunie O’Neal and Tiffney Cambridge, as well as Rah Ali, Nikki Chu, Tasha Marbury, Julissa Bermudez and Bow Wow’s mother, Teresa Caldwell. Guests munched on cakes while Lozada enjoyed gifts in bags from Hermes.
Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are reportedly selling their Bel Air home in Tinseltown for $12.9 million. The seven-bedroom, nine-bath mansion is described as “a magical property with views of the Stone Canyon Reservoir, the city and beyond.” The 11,750-square-foot mega home features not only a movie theater, basketball court, gym and pool, but also a mini-golf course and parking for more than 20 cars. The house was previously owned by Farrah Fawcett from 1976 to 1999.
Last week, Pharrell Williams was named “Hat Person of the Year” in an online poll by the Headwear Association for his Vivienne Westwood Buffalo hat, which he first wore to last month’s Grammy Awards. The Oscar nominee also wore the chapeau to the Oscar nominees luncheon on Feb. 10 in Hollywood. Prior to heading to the Left Coast, Pharrell hit Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week on Feb. 8, sporting a gray version of the Westwood topper that is now being called “The Arby’s Hat” for his collaboration with G-Star Raw.
Though they claim they’re “just friends,” Khloe Kardashian and the Game were out on the town together once again recently. This time, the coosome twosome were spotted tearing up the dance floor at Tru Nightclub in Hollywood. While they’ve been seen out at various locations from time to time, they have never been so cozy as they were on the dance floor, with Kardashian twerking and gyrating all over the Game in the middle of the packed nightclub. Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, was also in the house.
Ray Chew and Vivian Scott Chew have announced that their production company, Chew Entertainment, will celebrate Black History Month at the historic Minton’s Playhouse (206. W. 118th St.). “Our Music, Our History” will be a two-day event on Monday, Feb. 24 and Tuesday, Feb. 25 and will feature two sets each evening at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Rounding out both evenings will be acclaimed musician and music director Ray Chew (“Dancing With the Stars,” “American Idol” and the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards).
