As an American designer, b Michael’s fall/winter ’14 collection reflects the lifestyle of a modern woman. There are bold plaids for the day and glamorous gowns in bold colors for the evening. It’s all about the woman who wears these designs.
“Once the collection was completed, I understood why there were so many mixed prints, colors and textures, and how harmoniously the clothes all worked together,” said Michael. A great wardrobe is key for today’s American woman.
The range of Michael’s collection offers clean lines with architecturally inspired details like the shape of a collar and raised seams on some of his garments. For special affairs, there are plenty of pretty party dresses. His winter floral designs depict all of those lovely social engagements in your life. The looks are all so urban.
Very deliberately, his glamorous evening designs remind you of your appetite for luxury and fine places. Fall is a time for dressing for the occasion. You simply must look the part. His collection is evidence of the evolution of functional, wearable clothes this season.
As you watched the show, which was held at the Pavilion at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in New York City on Feb. 12, there was a reflection of all versions of a woman’s life in these clothes.
Michael is quite a remarkable designer. His clothes give you a glimpse of the prêt-à-porter quality creations in Paris. He exhibits the top quality and high-fashioned designs of yesterday with today’s finesse. He is actually the Cristóbal Balenciaga (the late designer of the famed French fashion house) of our time.
“It’s an all-American look,” claimed Michael. “These are clothes for the way modern American women and men live today.”
Michael is a couturier and ready-to-wear designer. He is known for his glamorous and timeless designs that are made exclusively in America. His clothes are worn by some of the world’s most famous women, including Beyoncé, Cicely Tyson and Cate Blanchett. While designing fashion lines, he enjoys various sources of inspiration. He always uses world-class fabrics at his salon, still located in New York City’s Garment District, where he remains committed to designing and manufacturing his clothes. He also creates an American Red Collection that’s available at Macy’s.
“I am honored to have my collection at Macy’s. This is an iconic and important American retailer and arbiter of style,” he commented. In this line, Michael presents a point of view that reflects modern Americans with a flagship couture collection they can afford. It’s a strong fashion story.
