Attention to all restaurant and foodservice industry professionals: Make room in your calendars for the annual International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York. It all happens Sunday, March 2 to Tuesday, March 4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily (4 p.m. on Tuesday) at the Jacob Javits Center. Tickets are on sale now.
Unofficially known as the “New York Restaurant Show,” the expo has proven to be the place to network with owners, operators, caterers, bakers and chefs from all aspects of hospitality and food service operations. Experience new products, concepts and solutions.
The three-day event features over 500 leading vendors in the exhibit hall and live culinary demonstrations and competitions. Educational panels and classes that will be curated by master chef Ferdinand Metz, head of the Culinary Institute of America for more than 20 years, include “Increasing Revenue and Loyalty,” “Minimizing Turnover While Building Winning Teams,” “Menu, Cuisine and Profits” and the Foodservice Council for Women panel, “Women Winning in Business.”
The N.Y. Restaurant Show also hosts myriad special events and pavilions. The new Food Trends Experience tops the list with dozens of brands and eateries like Harlem’s own Baconery, sharing how their obsession has permeated the market. If you’re looking for all things umami, the Japan Pavilion might be of interest, or you may go to the Ultimate Barista Challenge or to the 25th annual U.S. Pastry Competition, where showpieces, bonbons and cake will be created and judged by top pastry chefs.
