Larenze Tate stars in a new film called Gun Hill, premiering on BET tomorrow night (July 2) at 9pm. The film may become an ongoing television series if it is received well by the public.
Gun Hill follows martial artist Tate through Bronx, NY. He’s trained in an art called 52 blocks and uses that to survive as an undercover Police Officer. The fighting style Tate uses in the film gets its origins from 17th and 18th centuries slaves forced to defend themselves.
It is a real life fighting tradition that has since been orally passed down through the generations.
A symbolic narrative, the film details the mind, body, and spiritual growth of the warrior's soul, up from being merely a brawler.
Directed by Harlem Arts Alliance and Impact Repertory Theater member Reggie Bythewood, this could be a good.
