Kennedy Center’s intergenerational line dancers

The Harlem Council of Elders held intergenerational line dancing at the Kennedy Center in Harlem.The event brought out the youth in the elderly dancers and their uninhibited joy of line dancing. The event also attracted several youth from the community, including the group Youth Transition to Adulthood.
Peggy Ruffin of the line dancing committee of the Harlem Council of Elders said, “I’m a senior, and I so much enjoy seeing our seniors citizens getting out on the dance floor and doing line dancing.”
The event’s cosponsors were Assemblyman Keith Wright and Catholic Charity Community Services.
