The Universal Zulu Nation honored the last Saturday in Black History Month with a little martial arts.
The 12th annual Kemetic Masters of Martial Arts event was hosted by Dr. Shaka Zulu and focused on the origins of the various artforms, which date back to Africa. The event was held at The National Black Theater in Harlem and featured live demonstrations of dance, Kung-Fu, Capoeira, health information and more.
The Universal Zulu Nation was founded by musician Afrika Bambaataa in the 1970s as a way to celebrate various art forms like dance and music that are commonly associated with hip-hop culture.
