G&B Foundation’s 14th annual awards and scholarship luncheon

The G&B Foundation held its 14th annual Unsung Hero, Religious Service and Scholarships Awards Luncheon at Riccardo’s in Flushing, N.Y. This year’s theme was“Still Taking It to the Next Level.” Twelve awards were presented to chosen recipients, along with five scholarships for younger recipients.

Said G&B Foundation Executive Director Gloria Benfield, “Thank you, honorees, donors and professionals for your major contributions in our communities. You are the ordinary people that are doing extraordinary things in your respective communities. This is why we are ‘still taking it to the next level!’”

Benfield added,“We have provided over $100,000 in scholarship awards over the years. G&B Foundation Inc. provides back-to-school supplies to thousands of vulnerable children in our communities.”

The master of ceremonies at the luncheon was the Rev. Darren Ferguson and the keynote speaker was Dominic Carter, a political journalist and the author of “No Momma Boy.”
