Last week, the magnificent Bronx-based Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center hosted its “Proud of Our History” program, where staff came together to celebrate their history as an over 40-year-old community medical center and the terrific work they do for the people in Mott Haven.

Casilda E. Roper-Simpson, J.D., and the associate director of the center organized the whole event, during which retired NYPD Detective Graham Weatherspoon delivered the keynote address and presented certificates of appreciation to community liaison worker Karen Smalls and Amsterdam News Editor Nayaba Arinde.
