New York Amsterdam News Fourth Annual Labor Breakfast

The New York Amsterdam News held its fourth annual Labor Breakfast last Thursday at the Alhambra Ballroom in Harlem. This year’s honorees were American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten, who received the Basil Paterson Award; 32BJ President Hector Figueroa and Transit Workers Union Local 100 Secretary-Treasurer Earl Phillips, who both received the “Tying Communities Together” Award; and actress Cynthia Nixon, who received the Bill Lynch Jr. Impact Award. New York State NAACP Conference President Hazel Dukes was the keynote speaker. Attendees of this year’s breakfast included Charles Barron, Mayor David Dinkins and Keith Wright.
