They say “The Blues Ain’t Nothin” in a song that still rings in your ears. However, to designer Malan Breton, the blues are stylish, especially when it comes to a color in fashion. For men and women, his fall-winter 2015 collection, hitting the runway next week in New York, will be a reflection of the solar system. He says, “A star is an embodiment of light.” The colors of his fashions will mirror these celestial elements. His spring theme is “A

Journey to Taiwan.”

For men, the designer, born in Taipei, Taiwan, creates impeccably tailored clothes in silk, wool, mohair and technofiber that tends to a palette that symbolizes the stars, the moon and the sun. He designs for men who like their clothes sharply tailored and slim-fitting.

For women, Breton has partnered with the finest artisans in jewelry and avant-garde accessories, including jewelry by Rob Bacon Haute Jewelry. The Sperry Topsider brand adds traditional style to his heritage looks. There are also Caterina Belluardo shoes and leather goods for the right accent touches.

Breton’s models will show off hairstyles by Ecru New York. Also joining the team once again will be makeup partner Bella Beauty. Zoya will provide the nail art finish to the look for women.

A self-taught designer, Breton also designs breathtaking bridal wear. He is known for his detailing and exquisite fabrics. Breton has lent his expertise to several TV shows, including “America’s Top Model,” the “Today” show and “Breaking Bad.”
