LL Cool J to host Grammys

LL Cool J will host the 57th annual Grammy Awards for the fourth consecutive year. Performers for the show include Common and John Legend—who will be singing their Oscar-nominated song “Glory” from “Selma”—as well as Usher, Sam Smith and Pharrell Williams. The telecast airs Sunday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. on CBS. Pharrell is nominated for six Grammys, while Usher has four nominations for this year under his belt.
After 14 years out of the spotlight, D’Angelo is once again a powerhouse performer. The crooner will be the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” Jan. 31, just one week before headlining at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem. To cap all that good news off, Mr. Sexy Chocolate himself is embarking upon a European tour in support of his new album, “Black Messiah,” Feb. 11.
According to reports, after “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Celebrity Apprentice” star Kenya Moore first claimed that Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o refused to take a selfie with her at the NBCUniversal Golden Globes party—then switched the story to say it was her “friend” that Nyong’o snubbed—we never heard the “12 Years a Slave” star's version of the urban tale. Naughty Gossip now claims that Nyong'o was walking on a red carpet at a recent event and was asked about the photo snub by a reporter. The actress reportedly responded by asking, “Who is Kenya Moore?” Sources say she didn’t have a clue.
“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” diva Mimi Faust celebrated her 45th birthday at No. 8 in the Big Apple Jan. 21. The not-so-shy reality starlet told yours truly the soiree was a joint birthday celebration with her attorney, and while she was in New York City, she did a photo shoot and several interviews with members of the media.
Faust also told moi she has a lot coming up on the show’s newest season. She says she is single and not on the hunt for a man after finding out her boyfriend, Nikko Smith, was married. The ambitious entrepreneur also has a children’s clothing line, home accessories collection and a memoir on the horizon.
Speaking of entrepreneurs, hip-hop mogul Jay Z was spotted rocking limited edition Adidas EQT Running Guidance 193x Pusha Collaboration sneakers at the Los Angeles Clippers versus Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game in L.A. last week. After the sporting event, he and his wife, Beyonce, were seen having dinner at a West Hollywood restaurant with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Meanwhile, Jay and Bey were back at the Staples Center a few nights later to witness the Clippers destroy the Brooklyn Nets.
