Irvington, N.J., is providing federally certified health insurance navigators to help people enroll or re-enroll in affordable health insurance plans. Assistance is available in the lobby of Irvington Town Hall Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Fridays, 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., except holidays and when Town Hall is closed. Open enrollment continues until Jan. 31, 2016.

“Health insurance is necessary for access to quality health care” said Mayor Tony Vauss. “President Obama, through the Affordable Health Care Act, has made health insurance more affordable and available to most people. It is also a requirement that people have coverage. I am appreciative of the volunteers we have who are going to be at Town Hall to help people get the best coverage they can and meet the federal requirements.”

When coming in to enroll or re-enroll in insurance, residents must bring Social Security numbers for all household members (and any immigration documents), employer and income information for every member of the household (such as pay stubs, W-2 forms, wage and tax statements), the names and contact information for doctors, current health insurance plan information for everyone in the household and an email address, if someone in the household has one.
