A swim fashion splash

In South Beach, Fla., the Funkshion Fashion Week presentations were a hot splash of colors and savvy swimwear styles. The shows, starting at 7 p.m., were a pleasant way to spend an evening.
Art Hearts Fashion kicked off the event with a fabulous collection. Even Gwen Stefani’s eyewear popped on the runway. There were several unsung designers and a host of nationally and internationally acclaimed designers showing their stuff. Enjoying the performance of DJ Shaun Frank were more than 2,000 guests at the gala and Swim Week party.
The Art Hearts Fashion show opened with Just Bones Boardwear. Their Ocean Collection offered the brand’s signature board shorts and sexy bikinis. Due Aqua Swimwear also made their debut. Designed by Veronica Valle, the line included luxury resort clothes. Cirone Swim’s fiery presentation heated up the evening, and California’s favorite celebrity designer, Courtney Allegra, showcased her fun and flirty bikini suits at the finale of this segment.
At 9 p.m., Hale Bob came on with a Havana themed resort line, followed by the sexy men’s resort/swim brand of Argyle Grant. Celebrity designer Mister Triple X spiced things up with “Bandits,” a sexy swim and resort presentation that highlighted the brand’s signature edge, and cool shades by Stefani’s L.A.M.B. sunglasses and shoes by Alexander G. Designer Rocky Gathercole held the grand finale of this show. His line featured a bikini and resort couture collection.
Saturday, Art Hearts Fashion continued its series of fashion presentations at W Hotel’s South Beach Lycra Swim Salon. Planet Fashion TV presented this show, and designers included Koco Blaq, Bella Mar Swimwear, Mister Triple X Wild Things and Yas Couture by Eli Madi. The swimwear produced by all of these designers can be seen on every major Hollywood celebrity, including Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Niki Minaj and Shakira.
These runway shows were presented by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which helps raise awareness for HIV/AIDS. This season’s shows are dedicated to their Keep The Promise campaign that highlights AHF’s mission to provide access to treatment to the millions living with HIV.
