The 49th annual West Indian American Day Carnival Association New York Caribbean Carnival Week 2016 celebrates “One Caribbean, One People, One Voice,” and the contributions of Caribbean heritage to the world, with a five-day Caribbean-American cultural extravaganza! Included in the festivities are five multi-cultural concerts that boast tasty Caribbean cuisine from local chefs, festive costumes and Caribbean rhythms with artists such as Luciano, Third World, Blaxx, Ricardo Drue (Antigua), Lyrikal, Skinny Fabulous (St. Vincent), King David Rudder and live steel orchestras, Pan Sonatas, Pantonic and Crossfire Steel Orchestra. Guest DJs include Vibesman Redman, Barrie Hype, Young Sounds and DJ Spice. All the fun culminates in WIADCA’s New York Caribbean Carnival Parade Monday, Sept. 5, on the famed Eastern Parkway “cultural row” from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit http://wiadcacarnival.org/ and http://www.etix.com/ticket/v/10546/wiadca-labor-day-concert-series-2016.
