Harlem Shake has been holding down the corner of 124th and Lenox Avenue for some time. From the Classic to the Hot Mess burger, my favorite classic chicken sandwich, the handcut fries, the red velvet milkshakes….AHHHHH! Baby, it takes a moment to

pause for the food cause.

Well, did you know May is National Burger Month? And May 28 is National Burger Day? In celebration, with the assistance of the dynamic chef J. Kenji Lopez-Alt, Harlem Shake presents Harlem Biggie. This burger is, brace yourself, four Pat la Frieda patties, Nueske Bacon, avocado, tomato, Vidalia onion, housemade pickles and a fried egg. Call your doctor for a prescription first.

The Harlem Biggie, inspired by the late Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie Smalls) has almost as much presence as the rap icon and could potentially feed a small army…OK, at least two people. It is $14 and will be on sale until May 31 at both Harlem Shake locations.

Harlem Shake will return to the third annual Harlem EatUp! festival at the Sunday, May 21, Ultimate Grand Tasting in The Harlem Stroll with selections from the East location’s menu. See you there!
