Boyz II Men (204810)

Greetings! African Liberation Month 2017 was the perfect time for the Committee to Honor Black Heroes to lift up the memory of Abubadika Sonny Carson, the Brooklyn Pan-African nationalist, who stood strong for our community, especially in the Brooklyn. New York State Assemblyman Charles Barron and New York City Councilwoman Inez Barron joined me in our “Express Yourself” broadcast on WLIB-WBLS with kind words about Brother Abubadika and words about a new bill (A7274) that calls for a study on slavery in New York State. The commission will measure the impact of slavery in New York State and recommend remedies, including reparations.

Congratulations also to founding original member of the Last Poets, Abiodune Oyewole, who was honored at the 48th Annual Malcolm X Black Unity Awards with Dr. La Francis Rodgers-Rose, Ph.D., CEO of the International Black Women’s Congress along, with the late Mshinda Dahari, who received a posthumous award.
