Make America Great Again: Trump Must Go! #97

Not only is Trump the presumed sheriff of our borders, but also he has now named himself “The Tariff Man.”
“I am a Tariff Man,” he tweeted the other day, referencing the ongoing trade talks with China’s leader Xi Jinping. “When people or countries come in to raid the great wealth of our nation, I want them to pay for the privilege of doing so.”
Some of the nation’s great wealth has been accumulated by Trump, and the full disclosure of his wealth, tax returns and the issue of emoluments might soon be laid bare after a recent judicial ruling allowing a lawsuit to proceed that alleges Trump has violated the emoluments clause of the Constitution.
If things go as planned, the self-dealing Trump might be at last exposed for taking money from foreign governments while holding down the nation’s highest office.
In other words, Trump failed to divest himself of earnings from his businesses while running the government. As a federal official he is barred from taking profits or benefits from foreign governments unless approved by Congress.
But, as we have come to learn, Trump operates with a sense of reckless disregard for the rule of law, and we await the extent to which his defiance and braggadocio will fair under investigation from the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics who are part of the discovery process assisting the attorneys general in the lawsuit.
Trump has tried unsuccessfully to dismiss the lawsuits, and his next tactic will probably be to block the exposure of his public and private interests as well as the amount of money his family has made from a series of tax dodges and cuts.
And Trump knows that the higher the lawsuit goes in the court system the better his chances of winning, and we know the outcome should it go all the way to the Supreme Court.
What we are currently witnessing is a Trump scurrying nervously from one set of court rulings to another, including the incipient clutch of the Mueller probe. Like the liars who surround him, the traps to catch him have been set, and many believe he can’t escape them all.
But thus far he has been the artful dodger, if not the consummate deal maker. Pleading the Fifth Amendment or invoking his presidential powers are still cards he might play when placed against that wall he didn’t plan to build.
Roger Stone, Jerome Corsi, Jamal Khashoggi, Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen are names that must spin daily in Agent Orange’s head, and they are just a few of voices, living and dead, who might be ready to join our chorus to Make America Great Again—Trump Must Go!
