The Education Committee of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Bergen/Passaic Chapter is hosting an “Adopt a School” afternoon symposium at Teaneck High School Saturday, March 17, from noon to 4 p.m.

The purpose of the symposium is to provide Teaneck middle and high school students with information through an array of workshops related to their specific needs as they transition through middle school and high school into college.

The symposium supports NCBW 100’s advocacy work in the areas of college preparation, elimination of disparities, access and affordability. The symposium will include workshops that address choosing the right college, the college application process, financial aid, FAFSA, goal setting and scholarship opportunities.

“NCBW 100 is happy to partner with Teaneck High School in support of its mission, which is to provide a superior education by empowering students to develop the skills to become lifelong learners and effective citizens in a globalized society through an engaging curriculum and nurturing environment,” the organization said in statement.

This event is free for students and parents. Visit the NCBW 100 website at www.ncbwbergenpassaic.org or contact Karyn Wright-Moore, Education Committee chair, at 201-481-4758.
