The New York Urban League is hosting its 32nd annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities Fair Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park.
The fair is presented in partnership with the Malcolm Bernard HBCU College Fair Tour and the New York Urban League Young Professionals with sponsorship from UBER. This year’s fair will offer students access to more than 50 HBCU admissions representatives, alumni and staff, along with college and scholarship resources from organizations such as College Board and other notable organizations. There will also be workshops and guest speakers with focus on helping students gain the knowledge and tools necessary for them to move to and through higher education.
A number of schools will offer on-site admissions, fee waivers and scholarships. At the 2017 fair, 1,640 students were admitted on-site, 2,330 fees were waived and more than $579,000 was awarded in scholarships.
All high school and community college students and their parents, community and faith-based youth groups and college prep groups are encouraged to attend. There is no charge to attend the fair. Students and youth groups must register online at www.nyul.org/hbcu.
