Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark, Commissioner Cecile Noel of the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, survivors and community members came together last Saturday for a 5K Run/Walk/Roll event to kick off the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Participants made their way up the Grand Concourse from East 161st Street to Mount Eden Avenue. Clark and a domestic violence survivor, Sandra Pagan, addressed the participants before they headed out, most wearing purple garb identifying themselves as “warriors.”
Clark is urging victims of domestic violence in the Bronx to reach out for help by calling the Office of the Bronx District Attorney’s Crime Victims Assistance Unit at 718-590-2115.
