Make America Great Again: Trump Must Go! #90

Another disturbing, unsettling week in the White House? You bet.
The news from the Oval Office bordered from the inanities of Kanye West’s prolonged, incoherent rant to the first lady’s attire as she toured Africa.
But more salient were Trump’s denials, not only about Sen. Warren’s DNA test, but also his fatuous assertion that “rogue” killers are to blame for the death and dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi, the U.S.-based journalist who was critical of the Saudi government and its leader.
Add to that Trump’s claim that he has no financial interests in Saudi Arabia and the Trump wheel of denial spins even faster and more incredulous.
A cursory review of his connection with the Saudis reveals deep ties, including his friendship and business dealings with billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, from whom he purchased a yacht. By the way, the prince was among those imprisoned earlier this year and later released for his involvement in an anti-corruption sweep by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
The allegations that he was defending the Saudis on the disappearance of Khashoggi because of his business interests in the country—the first one he visited upon becoming president—were in Trump’s estimation “Fake News,” he tweeted.
It seems ludicrous that Trump would deny any financial interests to the Saudis when in a speech he said “they buy apartments from me,” to say nothing of the more than $100 billion in arms deals with the Saudis, something he has gloated about on several occasions.
His denials are nothing new and we are sure to hear more of them cascading as we approach the midterm elections, which portend a number of problems for him and the GOP.
Signifying on Sen. Warren, cheering on Kanye West and denying any concern about the intrigue with the Saudis are troubling matters, and additional ammo to our insistence that to Make America Great Again—Trump Must Go!
