We promised that we would get back to Bob Woodward’s book “Fear: Trump in the White House” after giving it a closer look.
Well, if only half the things are true about Trump and his paroxysms with his staff, advisers and top officials then we understand exactly why the state of affairs in the White House is “Crazytown.”
If the White House is sounding more and more like an insane asylum, or a psychiatric hospital akin to the one in Ken Kesey’s novel “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” then Trump is our Nurse Ratched.
Trump rules his administration with absolute authority, tolerating no breaking of his abhorrent policies, no resistance to his ever narrowing and harrowing perception of reality.
He controls his “inmates” with the same brutal indifference as Ratched and her minions, administering punishment arbitrarily and with little regard to the complaints now apparently being raised by “Anonymous” and a faction of others.
The behavior of “Anonymous,” this daring to speak out and warn the nation about Trump’s unfitness to rule, is very much like the outrage McMurphy demonstrates in Kesey’s book.
Trump has called “Anonymous” “gutless” and a “coward,” words that echo some aspects of his own mindless temperament. He insists that the person be identified and removed from his administration. Nurse Ratched, after being attacked by McMurphy, has him lobotomized, thereby suppressing any further disturbances.
Like Nurse Ratched, there is nothing redeeming about Trump; nothing about him indicates a compassionate concern for others. The names he spews against his associates and even friends are reprehensible and the outbursts of someone who is totally unhinged.
Let’s hope that “Anonymous” isn’t discovered and doesn’t meet a fate similar to McMurphy’s because unlike being suffocated by another inmate, Trump will do the job as he has done in so many other ways to the American populace. We applaud the conclusions reached by “Anonymous” and we are sure he or she would similarly support our mission that to Make America Great Again—Trump Must Go!
