New shoes are always the best, especially when they are comfortable and fashionable. Emme Cadeau, a new shoe designer, has created a fabulous footwear collection that caters to U.S. sizes 5 to 14. The new size-inclusive line celebrated its opening and collaboration with Flying Solo on a rainy July day in New York City. Guests included author and editor Constance White, Grandview’s Veronica Jones, editor Walter Green, Tara Wallace, Avon Dorsey and others. The company’s main goal is to bring to life unique size-inclusive footwear with a collection that offers luxury, comfort and a fashion edge.

Each premium leather shoe was created for the next generation. A portion of the sales of the line’s ballet flats goes to the organization Trickle Up, which aims to empower women. Designed in New York and handmade in Portugal, they cater to women who want to stand out. Cadeau means “gift,” and Emme Cadeau’s collection was well-received. The designs were inspired by memories of challenging shoe shopping with her mother, who was a teacher. She stood for hours on end, and she wanted chic shoes that provided the

right support.

“At Emme Cadeau, we spent years researching how to raise the bar, while moving away from the aesthetic that has come to define ‘comfort’ footwear,” said the founder. Working women are looking for more than basic colors, plain materials and boxy, unflattering shapes. They want style, too. In the design room, their shoes were created for dynamic women of all ages. Each style is inspired and named after strong and vivacious women who have made an impact in life. They are not trend driven but style driven. Shoe designs should be timeless and an extension of you.

Espadrilles have stood the test of time, and they are still considered news. Calzados Picon, another brand catering to larger sizes, has developed a new espadrille collection for spring/summer 2020. Folks used to have a problem buying proper sizes if they had larger feet. However, Calzados Picon has addressed this issue and created styles that are also available in larger sizes.
