The HBCU Hub is hosting the inaugural New York City HBCU Week Sept. 23-28. The week will consist of several events to educate students and families about choosing a Black college and the scholarships, careers and financial aid they offer.

Headed by Hampton University alum Nicole Barnwell, the event will also bring together New York’s HBCU community around the mission of spreading awareness about Black colleges. Alumni from various industries will also speak to local high school students about how HBCUs helped them in their careers.

HBCU Week kicks off on Sept. 23 with a summit featuring HBCU alumni, administrators and advocates. A college fair will take place on Sept. 25. The week will end with a step show featuring Black fraternities and sororities.
