On Dec. 5, at NiLu Gift Boutique at 191 Malcolm X Blvd., (between W. 119th and 120th Streets), there will be a book signing for “Dapper Dan: Made In Harlem,” from 6-9:30 p.m. “Finally, the world will know my full story, beyond being a brand, but as a Black man finding his place in the world,” said Dapper Dan. The book is about the author’s struggle against poverty, crime, and drugs; social rebellion and his quest for spiritual enlightenment. Register on Eventbrite for this special event.

Designer Donna Karan and Urban Zen have opened their annual Holiday Marketplace at 705 Greenwich Street, NY 10014. It’s another great place to shop. The Urban Zen Soulful Economy Marketplace has created a space for organizations and communities to collaborate, communicate and connect. Their purpose is to raise awareness and inspire change. They showcase a unique collection of one-of-a-kind jewelry, handcrafted leather pieces, artisanal furniture and home décor. The Holiday Marketplace hours are Monday-Sunday from 11a.m. to 7 p.m.
