As Harlem EatUp! celebrates its fifth year, it continues to regale us with the rich food, art and culture of our growing Harlem community. Not just every third week in May, this work is a year-round labor of love by many people.

This year, as associate producer, one of my main charges is the first ever WarmUp! To EatUp! (https://harlemeatup.com/warmup-to-eatup) program of Harlem arts and culture events happening from April to early May—this is an event the sponsors plan to hold annually. It is a consortium of organizations from West to East, South to North Harlem. Some free, some with a fee, but fun for all.

WarmUp! To EatUp! begins with an in-studio event from Art In FLUX (https://harlemeatup.com/festivalevents/warmup-to-eatup-art-in-flux) with artist in residence, Jordan Baker-Caldwell, on April 7 and will culminate with an African diaspora food and drink tasting at The Africa Center (https://harlemeatup.com/festivalevents/warmup-to-eatup-africa-center) on May 11th. In between there are food film screenings from the Maysles Documentary Center (https://harlemeatup.com/festivalevents/warmup-to-eatup-maysles-documentary-center-may4) and dance from Harlem Stage (https://harlemeatup.com/festivalevents/warmup-to-eatup-harlem-stage-april12).

From our East Harlem family comes two events. This first, from Curated Culture (https://harlemeatup.com/festivalevents/warmup-to-eatup-curated-culture), is a trolley food tour around East Harlem. The second, from Union Settlement (https://harlemeatup.com/festivalevents/warmup-to-eatup-union-settlement), is an outdoor pop up market with food, art and a live salsa band.

Take a gander at all of the events at www.harlemeatup.com/warmup-to-eatup and I hope to see you there.
