Gov. Andrew Cuomo says based on infection rates, all New York school districts are able to open for the new academic year.
Cuomo made the announcement during a conference call on Friday. The decision is based on the state's low COVID-19 infection rates.
Reports indicate that the Department of Health can deny plans from districts if the plans are unsafe. Cuomo added that if there is a spike in cases, he will reexamine opening schools.
