NYC Public School Opening Dates

  • 3-K, Pre-K and District 75 schools will reopen on Sept. 21

  • K-8 and K-5 schools will open on Sept. 29

  • Middle and high schools will open on Oct. 1

Not all New York City public schools will begin their in-person instruction Monday as originally planned, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday.

“For months, teachers, principals and school staff have been working hard to make sure our students have the education they deserve while putting health and safety first,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.
