There is more dance to access in March. At BAAD! (Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance) the virtual events continue with “Birds of a Feather” curated by Rourou Ye. The collaboration follows the lives of four Asian female dance artists narrated through movement. “Their individual journeys culminate in a performance piece that explores the unique dimensionalities of their lives on love, intimacy, power, distance and humanity as they move into a Western society,” notes the release. Featured artists are Can Wang, Chieh Hsiung, Lai Yi Ohlsen, and Rourou Ye begin their journey with similar origins -- whether from China or Taiwan. This virtual event is free and happens on March 26. March 19-26 - Ballet Hispánico continues their broadcast of En Familia, airing on the TVSB community channel. The broadcast is a continuation of Ballet Hispánico’s partnership with ¡Viva el Arte de Santa Bárbara!, an Arts & Lectures community arts program. Get access here.

March 22-31 – At Martha’s Vineyard, LaTasha Barnes and Caleb Teicher, as part of a co-curated artist residency, join in community projects and offer a virtual workshop and in-process showing. Get access here.

March 25 – DANCE NOW (DN) continues its 25th anniversary celebration, Chapter 5 and will honor binbinFactory artists Satoshi Haga and Rie Fukuzawa, with host Germaul Barnes. Get access here.

March 25-April 7 – Streaming from the Joyce is flamenco artist Israel Galvan’s Maestro de Barra a “…more spontaneous music and dance culture found in cafes and bars around the world,” according to the release. Get access here.

March 26 – Gibney’s Living Gallery offers a virtual excerpt from “Altar: Re-memberings of a Colonized Child” written and conceptualized by Jana Lynne (JL) Umipig, performed by SAMMAY and choreographed by Afaliah Tribune with music by Blessing Ritual by Shant. Get access here.
