On Monday (March 10) nearly 100 parents, students and activists gathered in Harlem to protest co-locations of charter schools in public school buildings. Hazel Dukes, the state's NAACP president, and Congressional hopeful Reverend Michael Walrond headlined the event, which took place near PS 149. At this public school kids share a building with Success Academy Harlem charter school middle-schoolers--at least for now.
