The Queen of Soul issued the following statement earlier this week: “Regretfully, To Our Friends and Supporters: Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time. We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends.”

Halle Berry’s nanny, Alliance Kamden-whom Gabriel Aubry, the father of Halle’s 3-year-old daughter Nahla, allegedly pushed into a door while she was holding Nahla-was refused a restraining order against the model. Kamden claimed she feared retaliation by Aubry, but the judge called her petition “insufficient and speculative.” The judge said Kamden’s issues should be resolved in family court.

The Harlem Theatre Arts Festival (HTAF) will take place Jan. 26 through Jan. 30 at the Dwyer, George Faison’s Firehouse Theater and Dr. Barbara Ann Teer’s National Black Theatre-all in Harlem.
