Elected officials in North Carolina are looking to prosecutors to get rid of a trailer depicting eight former and current elected officials, including President Barack Obama, with nooses around their neck. The trailer, driven by its owner V.R. Phipps, has been spotted throughout North Carolina and WTVD reported that the trailer has been driven by Phipps for more than three years, Even through Midtown Manhattan several months ago.

Last Thursday Phipps may have exercised his First Amendment right to the extreme when he parked outside Wayne County library, a site that offered early voting. So far however there have been repercussions. The State Board of Elections Executive Director Gary Bartlett told WTVD that information of the trailer was “forwarded to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Wayne County district attorney.” The Secret Service and local police also confirmed that they know about the trailer.
