Touro College Pharmacy students present research in Las Vegas (39706)

Students from the Touro College of Pharmacy recently presented results of their research at the midyear clinical meeting of the American Society of Health-system Pharmacists (ASHP) in Las Vegas. Seventeen students participated in the presentations, which covered topics such as the importance of the pharmacist’s role in medication for menopause, off-label use of a drug and a state pharmacy organization’s use of a website and social media. Pictured are the pharmacy students attending the conference and their faculty mentors at a reception sponsored by the seven schools of pharmacy in New York and the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists (NYSCHP). Both the ASHP and the NYSCHP are leading professional associations that represent pharmacists who practice in a variety of settings. Touro College of Pharmacy opened in Harlem in September 2008. The college offers increased educational opportunities–especially in Harlem–through programs in pharmacy education, research and scholarship, and through services to the community and the profession.
