Lincoln Center’s Nesuhi Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame has announced this year’s inductees. Guitar player Wes Montgomery, the brilliant jazz singer and composer Betty Carter, drummer Elvin Jones and Fletcher Henderson have been voted in as the 2014 recipients of one of jazz music’s highest honors.
Jazz enthusiasts from all over the world sent in their votes after choosing from 10 nominees that were handpicked by the hall of fame’s qualified committee of professional musicians and music scholars.
The four new inductees are jazz greats and have put their own unique marks on the world as influential, creative musicians.
Lincoln Center’s Nesuhi Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame has inducted 45 musicians since 2004 and never ceases to support the jazz community in regards to outreach and education.
